My Boys, My Girl, Lake Glenville, and Pizza

Good evening!

Life has been pretty busy lately. The kids have decided 5:15 is a valid wake-up time, so my progeny has commandeered my old 5:00-6:00 ‘me time.’ It sounds like a complaint, and maybe it’s a small one, but it’s also a sweet time with them.

I can’t let Thursday get by without a shout out to gracias-ness.

1. My Boys: As I’m writing this, the little guys are out of their minds. I love them. I should totally use them as my role model for being excited and thrilled with life. And I love watching them develop their twin bond.

2.My Daughter: She has taken to calling my wife a princess and me a prince and her brothers princes. She prefers to be called a princess mermaid ballerina butterfly. What’s sweet is her brothers now come up to their mom: “Momma, you know what you are? You’re a princess.” I love it when they influence each other for the good. To use a sentence construction I’ve only learned since blogging and Twitter: It’s.So.Sweet.

3.Lake Glenville: Actually, it’s the cabin that sits above the lake on Owen’s Mountain that my grandparents built back in like 1962.  My brother, dad, and I got together and helped put some new floors in. Actually, my brother and I did yardwork while my dad monitored the hired help put in the new floors. Aaron and I aren’t known for our home maintenance skills.  That cabin holds many a memory. It’s absolutely gorgeous up there (about 5 miles outside of Cashiers for all you Atlantans who have ransacked the area).

4.  Continuing Education & Pizza: My office has once a month Continuing Education (we insurance people are a highly CE’d group). We always get this pizza from this local joint–I can’t remember what it’s called, but it’s in the Kroger shopping center up off Chamblee Dunwoody just north of I-285. It’s perfectly greasy. It’s like the pizza version of Krispy Kreme’s hot donuts now: It goes down easy, and totally worth the stomach ache that’s sure to come about 2 hours later.

Thank you for listening. As always, if you have a fun thing you’re thankful for, please drop a note in the comments.

And on another note, if you have suggestions for this blog, types of posts you enjoy, etc, please drop a note also.

Thank you!

Absolutely thankful for all my grandchildren (and their parents of course)! When I am sick, feel kinda blue, or face it – any time – any one of them can remind me of the joy that just emanates from their souls! Thank you – Joshua, Maggie, Caleb, Jacob and Samuel! You truly are my heart!
